Log in to our online resources that are available 24/7 By Kevin McCallThe Marist College Center for Career Services team is available to assist you throughout the summer. We can help Marist students, recent graduates, and alumni as they pursue their professional goals and aspirations. Career Services knows the workforce has drastically changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and is making it easy for students and alumni to connect with career coaches through remote one-on-one appointments for resume and cover letter reviews, interview preparation, job search assistance, and more. You can learn from Marist alumni by attending Career Connections Series webinars. During these weekly virtual events you can get advice and ask questions about a specific field or company. But let’s say you want to take things a step further by looking for other job opportunities, get extra practice for a virtual interview, or network even more to get an informational interview. The following online resources are available for free 24/7 to all Marist students and alumni. Please note: students must log in to their FoxQuest account using their MyMarist information and go to the Resources section to access their free Candid Career and CareerShift accounts. FoxQuest: Search for job and internship postings targeted directly to your major or other interests and receive notifications of new postings that meet your preferences. You will also need to use FoxQuest to schedule appointments with career coaches and RSVP for workshops, employer information sessions and webinars sponsored by the Marist College Center for Career Services. Log in to FoxQuest here with your MyMarist information. InterviewStream: An online simulator that lets a user see and hear themselves responding to interview questions. Hear and see yourself as the interviewer does. Alumni Career Network: More than 1,300 Marist alumni are registered in the Alumni Career Network to give their perspective about the world of work to Marist students and their fellow alumni. Members of the network can participate in informational interviews, refer students to job and internships, and mentor students for example. Candid Career: Explore career paths and specific roles by watching day-in-the life videos of professionals who work in different career clusters and company sizes. CareerShift: Organize your job search by looking for, selecting, and storing positions from across multiple job boards and access in-depth information about companies and contacts that are posting jobs. Focus 2: An online career guidance program you can use to take inventories of your interests, skills, work values, personality, and leisure activities. Get information on a variety of careers and look up career paths related to majors at Marist.
These tools are great supplements and follow ups to your career coaching appointments. For more information on each online resource check out this summary on the Marist College website. If you need help setting up your account on any of these platforms please schedule an appointment with a career coach in FoxQuest. We hope you have an enjoyable summer!
